Information for Parents

Before a missing person can be listing on the Missing Persons Clearinghouse the following steps must be taken:

  • A missing person report must be filed with the appropriate police agency.
  • Fill out the Minnesota Missing Person Bulletin Information & Release Form as completely as possible. In missing person cases every little bit of information is important.
  • Sign and date the form, both by the Information/Photograph Release and at the bottom of the form.
  • Collect and provide law enforcement with recent photographs of the missing person (especially clear head shots)

Parents and guardians can get additional information from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children about keeping your child safe, and what to do if they are missing.
